Terms of Use

Last updated: September 3, 2026

These Terms cover applying to VIBE, buying a ticket, and attending. The parts most people want are section 03 (tickets, payment and refunds) and section 05 (what we do and do not promise about introductions).

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of this website and the VIBE event operated by VIB Holdings Ltd. (BC incorporation number BC1605871), operating as “Vancouver Island Business” and “VIBE” (“we”, “us”). By using this site, applying, or attending, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

01What VIBE is

VIBE is a curated, one-day business event in Victoria, British Columbia, and a related program of introductions. Attendance is by application and invitation. The website lets you apply. Tickets are issued after we review your application, either by invoice or by a secure payment link we send you; the website itself never takes your payment details.

02Applications & selection

Applying does not guarantee admission. We review applications and select attendees at our discretion, and we may decline or revoke a place. The information you provide must be accurate and your own; you are responsible for keeping it current.

03Tickets, payment & refunds

Ticket tiers and prices are shown on the site: $400 CAD for Vancouver Island businesses and their guests, $500 CAD for capital, and $1,000 CAD for the travel ticket, which includes transport and hotel as described on the site. All prices are in Canadian dollars and exclusive of tax. Admission to a conference is not subject to BC provincial sales tax, so no PST is charged on a ticket. VIB Holdings Ltd. is registered for GST/HST under registration number 790762843 RT0001. GST is added at 5% and shown as a separate line on your invoice or receipt, together with that number, so that a business buyer can claim it back.

How a ticket is bought. You apply first. We review applications and, if you are admitted, we send you either an invoice or a payment link for the tier that applies to you. There is no checkout on this website and nothing is ever charged automatically: a ticket exists only once you have been invoiced or sent a link, and have paid. Payment is processed by Stripe. A payment link opens a page hosted by Stripe rather than by us, so your card details are entered on Stripe’s page, are handled under Stripe’s own terms and privacy policy, and are never seen or stored by us. Whichever route you use, you receive a receipt stating the itemized price, taxes, the total and the event date, and these Terms apply to it. A payment link is personal to the buyer we sent it to and to the tier it names; if you were sent the wrong tier, tell us before paying and we will send the right one.

Refunds and cancellation.

Nothing here removes rights you have under British Columbia law that you cannot waive by agreement, including under the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act where it applies to your purchase.

04The prize / competition

VIBE closes with a live pitch competition. The following rules apply to it.

05Introductions — no advice, no guarantees

A core part of VIBE is facilitating introductions between participants, including between companies and potential investors. Important limits on that:

06Acceptable use

You agree to use the site and attend the event lawfully and respectfully. You will not misuse the site, attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to it, submit false information, harvest other participants’ information, or use anything you receive through VIBE (including other members’ details) except for the introductions you were part of. We may remove or refuse access to anyone who breaches these Terms.

07Intellectual property

The website, its content, branding, and design are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce, or reuse them except as permitted by these Terms or with our written permission. You keep ownership of the information you submit, and grant us permission to use it to run the event and the introductions you have consented to.

08Third-party services & links

We rely on third-party services for hosting, email, payments and our internal records (the roles they play are set out in our Privacy Policy, and we will name the specific providers on request) and may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for third-party services or content, which are governed by their own terms.

09Disclaimers & limitation of liability

10Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims and costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the site or event, or your dealings with other participants.

11Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

12Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply there. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia, subject to any consumer-protection rights you cannot waive.

13Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date shows when they last changed, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
